16-channel 4K PoE surveillance kit

The Reolink RLK16-820D8-A bundles an NVR with eight 4K PoE cameras and a Wi-Fi video doorbell, all supported by a pre-installed 4TB hard drive. The system accepts up to sixteen camera channels so additional units can be added later. It is aimed at homeowners or small businesses wanting a single-package, wired IP solution with person and vehicle detection.

Eight 18-metre cables and a doorbell

Eight 18-metre Ethernet cables are included so each PoE camera receives power and data through one wire, removing the need for separate power supplies. The Wi-Fi doorbell adds a wireless entry-point camera with 2K+ resolution and selectable aspect ratios for different porch layouts. Both camera types feed the same NVR for unified recording and playback.

Metal housings and PoE ports

The cameras use metal housings rated for outdoor mounting and connect directly to the NVR’s built-in PoE ports for plug-and-play operation. An HDMI output on the recorder allows immediate local monitoring without a network. The pre-fitted 4TB drive supports continuous 24/7 recording across all active channels.

Questions about this item

Will the pre-installed 4 TB HDD need replacing if I keep 24/7 recording on all 16 channels?

The 4 TB drive stores continuous footage from up to 16 cameras; once full it overwrites oldest clips, so replacement is only needed if the drive itself fails.

What limits 4K recording when all 16 PoE ports are active 24/7?

Total incoming bitrate and the 4 TB capacity are the first limits; the NVR accepts 16 channels at 3840×2160 but storage fills faster with more streams.

How much heat or fan noise does the RLN16-410 NVR produce running all day with eight RLC-820A cameras and the doorbell?

The NVR is passively cooled with no fan, so it runs silently; warmth stays low because each PoE camera draws power at the camera, not the recorder.
