Compact outdoor cord cover

The Restmo O-ECC-2 is a two-pack of small IP44-rated enclosures designed to shield outdoor plug connections from water, snow and dust. Each unit measures 18 cm by 5.7 cm by 5.7 cm and weighs 0.222 kilograms. The black reinforced polypropylene housing suits holiday lights, landscape lighting and garden power tools.

Included clamps, seals and mounts

Four lockable latches secure the lid while dual cable clamps grip cords up to AWG14 to prevent accidental disconnection. Soft rubber seals at both entry ports create a watertight fit around flat or braided wires. Two mounting holes and two cable ties allow the box to be fixed to walls or hung in the air without dropping.

IP44 rating defines the use case

The IP44 classification means the cover resists splashing water and solid particles larger than one millimetre, making it suitable for exposed outdoor connections. It does not protect against submersion or high-pressure jets, so buyers needing immersion-rated enclosures must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often should the rubber seals on the entry ports be replaced to keep the IP44 rating?

The rubber seals are built into the housing and are not designed as replaceable parts; inspect them each season and replace the whole cover if they crack or lose elasticity.

What cable thickness is the largest that the dual clamps can still grip securely?

The clamps accept cords up to AWG14, so any cable thicker than that will not be held firmly.

Does the reinforced PP material become brittle or hot after weeks of continuous outdoor exposure?

The material is UV resistant and rated for harsh environments; it does not soften or degrade noticeably during extended use.
