Adds six SATA 3.0 ports through a single M.2 NVMe slot using an ASM1166 controller with LED status indicators and an aluminum heatsink
This card converts a single M-key M.2 NVMe slot into six SATA 3.0 ports running at 6 Gbps each. It is built around the ASMedia ASM1166 controller and includes an aluminium heatsink for thermal stability. Each port has an LED that shows device presence and flashes during data activity. The board is driver-free and works immediately after installation.
It suits users who need to connect several SATA SSDs or hard drives through one M.2 slot, such as in a multi-bay storage server or a workstation with limited expansion slots. Soft RAID arrays can be created using the operating system’s built-in tools. The card does not support hot-swap, so drives must be connected before power-on. Builders who require hot-plug capability or more than six ports should look elsewhere.
The upstream link provides 16 Gbps of total bandwidth, shared across all six downstream ports. Everyday file copies, backups and media streaming run comfortably within this headroom. Sustained simultaneous transfers on all drives will saturate the uplink and limit per-drive throughput. The design targets capacity expansion rather than peak single-drive speed.

The card fits an M-key M.2 NVMe slot; it will not work in a B-key or B+M-key slot.
Yes, each downstream port runs at SATA 3.0 6Gbps and is backward compatible with older SATA devices.
