Wired Doorbell with Retinal 2K Video

The Ring Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen Silver is a hardwired video doorbell that streams Retinal 2K resolution to your phone. It features Low-Light Sight for colour video in near darkness and Adaptive Night Vision for black-and-white detail in total darkness. Two-Way Talk lets you speak with visitors in real time. The package includes a removable Nickel Silver faceplate, universal mounting plate and installation hardware.

Suits homes with existing doorbell wiring

This model requires existing doorbell wiring for power, so it fits properties that already have a mechanical or digital chime circuit. Buyers without wired doorbell infrastructure or who prefer a battery-only installation should look at a different product. The 3D Motion Detection uses radar to reduce false alerts, and Video Descriptions summarise activity in notifications.

30-day Ring Home trial included

A free 30-day trial of Ring Home is included with the doorbell. After the trial period a subscription is needed to store and review recorded video clips. The doorbell ships with a Nickel Silver faceplate; other colour faceplates may ship separately when ordered.

Questions about this item

What existing wiring must I have to power the Ring Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen?

It requires standard doorbell wiring that supplies low-voltage AC power; the unit does not run on batteries and will not function without a wired connection.

Can I keep my mechanical chime and still use the 3D Motion Detection and Retinal 2K video?

Yes, the doorbell works with most existing mechanical or digital chimes, and all motion and video features operate independently of the chime type.

How do I confirm the Retinal 2K video and Low-Light Sight are active after installation?

Open the Ring app, start a Live View and verify the feed shows crisp 2K resolution; in dim conditions the image stays in colour, and in total darkness it switches to sharp black-and-white automatically.
