Industrial ATX board with ISA and PCI slots

This new Roby Technology motherboard uses the Intel 945GV chipset on an ATX form factor. It fits standard cases and accepts LGA775 processors including Pentium HT, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D models. Two DDR2 DIMM slots support memory speeds of 400, 533 or 667 MHz up to a maximum of 4 GB.

Legacy expansion for industrial systems

The board provides five PCI slots, one PCIe x16 slot and two ISA slots, allowing older data-acquisition or control cards to be used alongside modern graphics. Dual Realtek RTL8111C Gigabit Ethernet ports, 7.1-channel Realtek ALC888 audio, four SATA ports, one IDE connector and basic rear I/O complete the feature set.

LGA775 socket limits processor choice

Only Intel CPUs with a 533, 800 or 1066 MHz front-side bus will work in the LGA775 socket. Builders needing support for newer architectures or higher memory capacities must select a different platform.

Questions about this item

Will the DDR2 memory slots or the IDE connector need replacement parts first?

The board has two DDR2 DIMM slots supporting 400/533/667 MHz up to 4 GB and one IDE connector; DDR2 modules are still obtainable, while IDE drives are harder to source.

What limits sustained operation — the 5 PCI slots sharing bandwidth or the 4 GB DDR2 ceiling?

The 4 GB DDR2 maximum is reached before PCI bandwidth becomes a bottleneck for typical legacy workloads.

How much heat and noise come from the 945GC chipset and passive cooling when running all day?

The 945GC chipset runs cool enough for passive cooling; noise depends on the case fans and CPU cooler you install.
