Junior Lavalier Headset Mount

The RODE Lav-Headset Junior is a wearable headset-style mount designed for the Lavalier and SmartLav+ lapel microphones. It positions the capsule near the mouth for consistent voice capture during streaming, gaming or presentation work. The Junior size fits heads up to age 13.

Spring Steel Frame With Cable Management

The mount is engineered from plated spring steel that retains its shape through repeated use. Integrated cable routing at the rear secures the microphone lead and provides strain relief during movement. No power or active cooling is involved.

Hands-Free Wearable For Lavalier Mics

The accessory replaces a clothing clip with a stable head-worn platform, freeing the user from garment noise and placement inconsistency. It requires a compatible RODE Lavalier or SmartLav+ microphone, which is sold separately.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Lavalier or SmartLav+ to the Junior headset mount and what step is often missed?

Slide the microphone capsule into the front clip until it clicks, then route the cable through the rear channel and snap the cover shut; the step people miss is fully seating the cable in the strain-relief groove so it cannot pull loose during movement.

What part of the Junior mount will need replacement first with regular use?

The spring-steel frame is plated for lifelong durability, so the only wear item is the cable-management cover at the rear; if its snap tabs fatigue, the cover can be swapped without tools.

At what head size does the Junior mount stop fitting securely?

The Junior size is designed for ages up to 13; beyond that the 100 x 140 x 200 mm frame loses tension and the microphone drifts away from the mouth, so the next size up is required.
