Motorcycle Model Kit with 420 Components

The ROKR LK504 is a self-propelled wooden motorcycle model built from 420 precision-cut pieces. It is designed for hobbyists aged 14 and older who enjoy mechanical assembly projects. The finished model measures 270 x 116 x 160 mm and serves as a decorative display piece for a desk or shelf. No batteries are required for operation.

Spring-Driven Assembly Taking 4 to 5 Hours

Assembly follows a numbered sequence and typically requires 4 to 5 hours to complete. The kit uses interlocking wooden parts that fit together without glue or tools. Builders must wind the internal spring mechanism correctly; insufficient tension or misaligned gears will prevent the motorcycle from moving. The rubber-band motor and gear train must engage cleanly for reliable propulsion.

Clockwork Propulsion Covering 7 to 10 Feet

The integrated spring and rubber-band drive propels the model forward for 7 to 10 feet on a flat surface. A simulated four-cylinder engine moves its pistons while the front suspension compresses during travel. The kickstand folds up to release the drive, and side storage boxes add visual detail. The mechanism stops once the stored spring energy is exhausted.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the spring-driven motorcycle runs correctly after assembly?

Wind the spring clockwise, set the handlebar straight, fold the kickstand up and release; the model should travel straight for about 7 to 10 feet with the pistons moving.

What comes in the box and what must I supply separately?

The kit contains 420 pre-cut wooden pieces for the 1:8 scale cruiser; no batteries, glue or tools are included or required.

Which version of the ROKR LK504 should I choose for a 14-year-old builder?

The single LK504 version with 420 pieces and a 4 to 5 hour build time is rated for ages 14 and up.
