Product Identity

The Royal 22-8 is a black matte EPDM rubber tape measuring 1.8 inches wide by 33 feet long. It functions as a weather stripping seal for doors and windows, supplied as a single roll with an adhesive backing. The material is non-toxic and safe for use around children and pets. It is designed to close gaps up to 1.2 inches wide on frames, sashes and thresholds.

Suitable Applications

This tape suits homeowners or renters sealing drafts on window sides, bottoms, glass doors, bathroom doors and bedroom doors. It helps reduce heat loss in winter, heat gain in summer, and blocks noise, wind, dust and insects. Buyers who need a rigid threshold insert, a magnetic seal or a fire-rated intumescent strip should look at other product types, as this is a flexible adhesive foam tape only.

Sustained Performance

The adhesive requires a full 24 hours without door or window movement to reach full bond strength. In cold conditions the manufacturer suggests warming the tape with a hair dryer for one minute before application to improve initial tack. Once cured, the EPDM rubber resists temperature cycling and remains flexible, maintaining the seal through seasonal expansion and contraction of the building envelope.
