Desktop water-activated tape dispenser

The Royal 22-8 is a manual desktop dispenser made of heavy-duty plastic with a pink matte finish. It ships with a roll of reinforced kraft paper gummed tape measuring 1.88 inches by 55 yards. The unit includes a 250 ml water tank and a 4.2-inch cutter blade that handles tape up to 3.14 inches wide. Weighing 900 grams, it suits shipping departments, warehouses and retail packing stations.

Upgrades from hand-held tape guns

This dispenser replaces manual hand-held gummed tape tools and basic sponge-type moistening boxes. The integrated water tank and roller deliver consistent activation without separate sponges or bottles. The fixed blade and adjustable brake hub give repeatable cut lengths and tension control that loose tools cannot. The jump is worth it when daily carton volumes make hand tearing slow or inconsistent.

Check bench space and tape specs before ordering

Verify the 12.6 by 4.05 by 5.23 inch footprint fits your packing bench and that the 250 ml tank capacity matches your refill routine. Confirm your gummed tape rolls are 1.88 inches wide and do not exceed the 3.14 inch maximum width the blade accepts. The dispenser is manual only and requires no power connection.

Questions about this item

What desk space does the dispenser need?

The unit measures 12.6 inches long, 4.05 inches wide and 5.23 inches high, so allow at least that footprint on a flat surface.

How do I load the tape and water correctly?

Fill the 250 ml tank, ensure the wet roller turns freely, place the tape glue-side down under the 4.2-inch blade, wind it once, then pull to cut.

When should I replace the blade or roller?

Replace the blade when cuts become ragged; clean or swap the front black roller if it no longer wets the 1.88-inch kraft tape evenly.
