Home Office Cross-Cut Shredder

The Royal PX1201 is a cross-cut shredder built for home offices and small workspaces. It destroys paper, credit cards, CDs, and DVDs in a single pass. The 7/8 HP motor drives the cutting mechanism for consistent throughput. Four locking casters allow the unit to be moved between rooms and secured in place.

Build Integration and Workflow

The shredder accepts up to 12 sheets per pass along with staples and plastic media without pre-sorting. A photo sensor triggers auto start and stop for hands-free operation. An auto-stop function activates on paper jams to protect the mechanism. The pull-out 20 liter basket with a window simplifies emptying and monitoring fill level.

Capacity and Operational Limits

The 12-sheet cross-cut capacity handles typical daily document volumes for a small office. Credit cards, CDs, and DVDs are processed alongside standard paper. The 20 liter bin provides a practical interval between emptying cycles. Very high-volume or continuous industrial shredding exceeds the design intent of this model.

Questions about this item

How many sheets can the PX1201 cross-cut shredder handle continuously before the motor needs a cool-down?

The 7/8 HP motor shreds up to 12 sheets per pass; sustained runs will trigger the auto-stop thermal protection, so pause when the unit slows or stops.

What noise and heat levels should I expect when the Royal 29127-FE runs for hours in a small office?

The 7/8 HP motor and cross-cut mechanism produce noticeable mechanical noise and warm exhaust air during long sessions; the 15.60 lb chassis helps dampen vibration.

Does the 20 L pull-out basket with window require any special bags or liners to operate?

No special bags are needed; the basket slides out on its casters and the window lets you see the fill level before emptying into any waste container.
