Royal Black Touring HP 195/55R16 87V XL

The Royal Black Touring HP is a new all-season touring tyre sized 195/55R16 for passenger vehicles. It carries load index 87 and speed rating V, allowing speeds up to 149 mph. The XL load range supports heavier loads on compatible cars, sedans, SUVs and CUVs.

Fitment for passenger cars and light utility

This tyre suits drivers needing year-round traction with UTQG 560AA ratings for treadwear and wet grip. It is not for vehicles requiring run-flat capability or a different rim diameter. Buyers needing a higher load index or alternative speed rating should look elsewhere.

16-inch rim diameter decides fitment

The tyre mounts only on 16-inch wheels, so the rim size is the single specification that confirms compatibility. Overall diameter measures 24.4 inches with section width 195 mm and tread depth 7/32 inch. Verify the wheel diameter before purchase.

Questions about this item

How many 32nds of tread depth will I need to wear off before the tire reaches the legal minimum?

The tire ships with 7/32 tread depth; you will replace it once wear reaches 2/32, so roughly 5/32 of usable depth remains.

Will the 560 UTQG treadwear rating or the V speed rating limit how long I can drive at highway speeds?

The V rating allows sustained speeds up to 149 mph, while the 560 treadwear grade indicates expected mileage; neither imposes a time limit on daily highway use.

Does the XL load range make the tire run hotter or louder on long motorway trips?

XL denotes a higher load capacity, not a different rubber compound; heat and noise levels are comparable to a standard-load touring tire of the same size.
