Shredding capacity and security

The Royal ROY29171Y is a crosscut shredder built for home office use. It destroys up to ten sheets per pass into particles measuring 0.13 by 1.50 inches. The unit also processes credit cards and staples for complete document disposal.

Buyers needing higher volume or different cut

This model suits individuals and small teams who shred daily batches of personal or financial papers. It is not for offices that require continuous duty cycles or micro-cut particle sizes for higher security standards.

3.3-gallon pull-out wastebasket

The bin holds 3.3 gallons of shredded material and slides out for easy emptying. Auto start and stop functions activate the blades only when paper is inserted, reducing wear and saving energy.

Questions about this item

How much space do the 9.60" x 14.40" x 15.90" dimensions need on a desk?

The unit measures 9.60 inches wide, 14.40 inches deep and 15.90 inches high, so allow at least that footprint plus clearance for the pull-out bin to slide fully open.

What is the correct way to load the 10-sheet maximum per pass without jamming the crosscut mechanism?

Align up to 10 sheets squarely in the feed throat and let the auto start/stop sensor engage the motor; forcing a thicker stack or feeding at an angle is the step most users get wrong.

How often will the 3.3-gallon pull-out wastebasket need emptying when shredding at the 0.125" x 1.500" crosscut size?

The 3.3-gallon bin holds a large volume of the small 0.125 by 1.500 inch particles; empty it when the confetti reaches the top of the basket to prevent it from backing up into the cutters.
