32-Gallon Rectangular Waste Container

The Rubbermaid 1971944 is a 32-gallon rectangular trash can designed for outdoor waste collection. Its high-density polyethylene construction resists cracking and denting under heavy daily use. The integrated hinged lid and foot pedal allow hands-free disposal for homeowners and groundskeepers.

UV-Protected HDPE with Wheeled Mobility

Gray UV protectant shields the plastic from sun damage during permanent outdoor placement. Four wheels enable the flat-bottomed bin to roll smoothly across pavement or grass when full. The smooth interior surface releases debris easily during dumping without trapping moisture or odours.

32-Gallon Capacity for High-Volume Sites

The 32-gallon volume suits properties generating large amounts of yard waste or household refuse between collections. Smaller households or sites with tight storage clearances may find the 37-inch height and 28-inch depth excessive for their available space.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the wheels and hinged lid on the Rubbermaid 1971944, and what step do people often miss?

Snap the axle into the molded recesses on the base, then press each wheel onto the axle ends until they click. The step most people miss is seating the lid hinge pins fully into both side sockets before the first use.

What maintenance or replacement will the 32 gal Gray HDPE can need over time?

The UV protectant slows fading, but after several seasons the hinged lid pins and foot pedal spring may wear; replacement hinge pins and pedal kits are available for this model.

What limit appears first when the 32 gal can is rolled full over rough ground?

The 20 in wide wheelbase can tip on uneven pavement when the can is near its 32 gal capacity, so keep loads balanced and avoid steep curb drops.
