Rubbermaid Aladdin Smokers' Station 4.5 gal

The Rubbermaid Commercial R1639EHGR Aladdin Smokers' Station is a 4.5 gallon capacity ash urn designed for outdoor facility maintenance. Its round steel construction features a charcoal Uni-Koat powder-coat finish that resists UV damage and wipes clean easily. The unit stands 39 inches high with a 16 inch opening diameter.

Facilities needing sandless cigarette disposal

This station suits property managers and maintenance teams who need a self-extinguishing, sandless solution for collecting cigarette waste at building entrances or designated smoking areas. The oxygen-restricting fluted design extinguishes cigarettes automatically without requiring sand refills. Facilities requiring wall-mounted units or significantly larger capacity receptacles should consider alternative configurations.

Removable galvanized liner with security chain

The bundled 4.50 gallon galvanized steel liner includes a handle for easy removal and disposal of collected waste. A nickel-plated brass chain secures the removable top to the base, deterring theft while allowing the top to be unclasped for emptying. These features reduce maintenance time and help keep the station anchored in public spaces.

Questions about this item

Does the 16" opening diameter require a specific mounting surface or can it sit on any flat ground?

The unit is freestanding with a 39" overall height and a 16" opening diameter; it needs no mounting hardware and sits directly on any level outdoor or indoor surface.

Will the two 1-1/4" openings accept waste from older pedestal ashtrays we currently use?

Yes, the dual 1-1/4" diameter openings accept standard cigarette waste; the oxygen-restricting fluted design extinguishes butts regardless of the previous ashtray style.

How can I verify the self-extinguishing feature is working after the first use?

Drop a lit cigarette into either opening; the fluted design restricts oxygen and the butt should self-extinguish without sand, confirming the fire-safe steel construction is functioning.
