Gripper Handle for Commercial Mops

The Rubbermaid Commercial RCP H245 is a 54" fiberglass handle designed for breakroom and janitorial tasks. Its plastic jaws clamp securely onto compatible mop heads without extra tools. The black and yellow colour scheme aids visibility in busy cleaning carts. This new unit suits facilities that need a lightweight, non-conductive pole for daily floor care.

Suited for Standard Wet-Mopping Crews

Cleaning teams that use standard clamp-style mop heads will find the gripper mechanism quick to operate between jobs. Workers who prefer screw-in, slide-on or Velcro mop attachments should look at other handle types because the fixed jaws cannot adapt to those fittings. The single 54" length also limits reach for high walls or ceilings without an extension piece.

Simple Clamp-On Installation

Attaching a mop head takes seconds: open the jaws, insert the mop band and release for a firm hold. The most common issue is debris building up in the jaw hinge, which can weaken the grip over time. Regular rinsing of the plastic clamp area keeps the mechanism reliable during heavy daily use.

Questions about this item

Which mop head size fits the plastic jaws on the RCP H245?

The plastic jaws firmly grip standard mop heads so the handle works with the mop you already use.

Will the 54 inch fiberglass shaft reach the same areas as my older metal handle?

At 54 inches the shaft gives the same reach as a typical full-size handle while staying lighter than metal.

How do I know the jaws are locked before I start mopping?

Push the mop head into the jaws until you hear a click and tug gently — the head will not release if it is seated.
