What this cart is for

The Rubbermaid FG450088 beige utility cart moves materials, supplies and heavy loads up to 500 lbs across worksites. Its two deep lipped shelves keep items from sliding off while an integrated V-notch holds pipe or conduit steady for cutting. Structural foam construction resists rust, dents, chips and peeling.

Assembly and common issues

The unit ships fully assembled so no tools or fitting are required. Two 5 inch fixed locking casters and two swivel casters lock the cart in place during loading and release it for travel. Rounded corners protect walls and doorways from impact damage.

Behaviour under continuous load

High-density structural foam stays rigid when the cart carries 500 lbs for extended periods and will not rust, dent, chip or peel. Ergonomic handle placement and balanced caster geometry keep the cart maneuverable even when fully laden. Molded-in tool holster and caddy retain accessories without shifting during long transport runs.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the cart rolls smoothly and holds its position when I load it?

Engage the two 5" fixed locking casters and verify they hold the cart stationary; the two swivel casters should then pivot freely so the cart moves without binding.

What ships with the utility cart and what must I supply myself?

The cart arrives fully assembled with ergonomic handle, lipped shelves, integrated V‑notch, tool holster, caddy and four casters installed; no extra hardware or tools are required.

Which capacity version of the FG450088 should I choose for my workload?

The FG450088 is rated for 500 lbs total capacity; select it when your combined load stays at or below that figure.
