Rigid Caster for Yard Tools

The Rubbermaid GRFG4708L40000 is a rigid caster built for wheelbarrows and yard carts. Its phenolic wheel and steel frame support a 200 lb load capacity. The black unfinished finish resists wear in outdoor conditions. Mounting nuts and washers are included for installation.

Suits Single-Wheel Replacements

This caster fits owners repairing a wheelbarrow or utility cart that uses a fixed rigid caster. It is not for swivel-caster applications or steering axles. Buyers needing a brake mechanism or a swivel plate should look elsewhere. The phenolic wheel is also unsuited for soft turf where a pneumatic tyre would sink.

200 lb Load Capacity

The caster comfortably handles typical garden loads such as soil, mulch or tools up to its rated limit. It runs out when the combined weight of cart and contents exceeds 200 lb. The 5 in overall height and 4 in length suit standard wheelbarrow frames. Heavier construction debris or stacked pavers will surpass the rated capacity.

Questions about this item

Does the 200 lb load capacity of this Rigid Caster require a matching swivel caster on the same axle to support a yard cart?

The 200 lb rating applies to each caster; a yard cart typically uses two rigid and two swivel casters so the combined capacity matches the intended load.

Will the 5 in overall height of this caster align with the mounting plate height of an older Rubbermaid wheelbarrow?

Measure the existing caster's overall height; if it is also 5 in the new caster will keep the wheelbarrow level, otherwise shims or a different size are needed.

How can I confirm the phenolic wheel is rolling freely after bolting this caster to my cart?

Spin the wheel by hand — it should turn smoothly without binding, and the cart should track straight when pushed under a light load.
