Rigid Plate Caster for Heavy Loads

This rigid plate caster uses a polyurethane wheel on a polyolefin core to support loads up to 900 lb. The eight-inch diameter and two-inch width suit heavy carts and wheelbarrows that move in a straight line. Non-marking tread protects finished floors. The unit ships new and carries a California Proposition 65 warning for cancer and reproductive-harm chemicals.

Simple Four-Bolt Installation

The top plate bolts directly to the equipment frame with standard hardware. No swivel mechanism or brake is included, so alignment must be square before tightening. Common issues are uneven mounting surfaces that bind the wheel and loose bolts that work free under vibration. Check bolt torque after the first few hours of use.

Steady Rolling Under Continuous Weight

Polyurethane tread resists flat-spotting when the cart sits loaded for long periods. The polyolefin core handles sustained 900 lb loads without deforming, and the rigid yoke keeps tracking true on straight runs. Heat build-up is minimal at walking speeds. Not suited for applications that require swivel steering, braking, or frequent tight turns.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 8 in polyurethane wheel is rolling smoothly and the rigid plate is holding the 900 lb load without wobble?

After mounting, push the cart or wheelbarrow over a flat surface; the wheel should turn freely with no binding, the plate bolts should stay tight, and the rated 900 lb capacity should feel stable with no side-to-side play.

What hardware comes with the caster and what must I supply myself?

The caster includes the wheel, rigid plate, and polyurethane tread; you must provide mounting bolts, washers, and any axle hardware required for your wheelbarrow or cart frame.

Which load-rating version should I choose for a heavy-duty wheelbarrow?

Select the 900 lb rated model when your loaded wheelbarrow or cart will approach that weight; it uses a polyurethane-on-polyolefin wheel that is non-marking and built for high-capacity rigid use.
