10 Gigabit SFP+ transceiver for long-reach links

The RUCKUS WIRELESS 10G-SFPP-LR-S is a plug-in SFP+ transceiver module built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks. It provides a 10 Gb/s data transfer rate over single-mode fibre using the LR optics standard. This module suits network engineers extending enterprise or campus LANs between buildings or across data-hall rows.

Steady 10 Gb/s throughput on single-mode fibre

Under continuous load the transceiver maintains the full 10 Gb/s line rate without throttling, as the LR optics are rated for the specified reach at line speed. The plug-in form factor draws power directly from the host switch or router, so thermal performance follows the chassis design rather than a separate cooling solution. Buyers needing higher-density multi-rate optics or shorter-reach SR variants should evaluate other modules.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 10G-SFPP-LR-S draw when running continuously?

The module draws low power typical for SFP+ LR optics, well within the standard slot budget of 1 W, so it adds minimal heat to a switch running all day.

What must I already own for the 10G-SFPP-LR-S to work?

You need a switch or router with an open SFP+ port that supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and a matching single-mode LC patch cable for the link.
