Rigid shaft coupling for 14 mm shafts

The Ruland Manufacturing coupling joins two 14 mm shafts with a set-screw connection. It is machined from 1215 lead-free steel with a black-oxide finish and includes a 5 mm keyway. The component suits motion-control assemblies that require a solid, backlash-free link.

Behaviour under continuous rotation

The coupling is rated for a maximum of 4,000 RPM in sustained operation. Its one-piece steel construction resists deformation when torque is held constant over long periods. The black-oxide coating provides surface protection during extended duty cycles.

Bore diameter and keyway width

The 14 mm bore and 5 mm keyway determine whether this part matches the shafts in your drivetrain. Verify both dimensions against your shaft specifications before ordering. The coupling will not fit shafts of any other diameter or keyway size.

Questions about this item

Does the rigid shaft coupling generate noticeable noise, heat or power draw when running continuously?

The coupling is a passive mechanical component with no motor or electronics, so it produces no noise, heat or power consumption of its own.

What existing shaft and fastening method must I already have to install this M6 set-screw coupling?

You need a 14 mm diameter shaft with a 5 mm keyway and an M6 tapped hole to accept the set screw.

Will the 34 mm outside diameter and 50 mm length fit alongside older shafting and guards I keep in place?

The coupling’s 34 mm OD and 50 mm overall length match the stated dimensions, so clearance can be checked directly against your existing layout.
