Concrete cleaning and etching solution

Rust-Oleum Concrete Saver 108402 is a ready-to-use liquid etcher supplied in a one-gallon jug. It prepares bare concrete for coatings by cleaning and profiling the surface in a single step. The pink colour helps confirm even coverage during application. It is intended for DIY and professional floor-preparation projects.

Check surface condition and safety needs

The product requires a water rinse after the etching reaction is complete. It is non-flammable with a flash point of 94 degrees C and contains zero VOCs. Application temperature is not rated, so verify the slab temperature is suitable for chemical etching. The solution weighs 11.3 lb per jug and is biodegradable.

Ready-to-use formula changes the workflow

No dilution measuring is needed because the concentrate ships at working strength. The unscented liquid reduces odour in enclosed spaces such as garages or basements. Compliance with CERCLA, SARA and TSCA regulations simplifies disposal planning for contractors. The pink tint remains visible until rinsed, preventing missed spots.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the 1 gal Concrete Saver jug and is anything else needed before use?

The product arrives as a ready-to-use liquid in a 1 gallon jug. No separate dilution or mixing components are required; the label states it is ready to use and biodegradable.

How do I decide between the 1 gal size and other capacities for my project?

Only the 1 gallon jug is listed for this Concrete Saver solution. It covers a standard etching job and weighs 11.3 lb, so choose this size if that volume matches the area you need to prepare.

What does the 94 °C flash point mean when I am working with the product on site?

A flash point of 94 degrees Celsius means the liquid is nonflammable under normal ambient conditions, so no special fire precautions are needed during application or storage.
