Eight-bay SFF SAS cable adaptor connects 2.5″ drives to HP DL380 G7 and G6 servers
This new adaptor connects the 2.5" drive cage backplane in HP DL380 G7 and G6 servers. It supports eight small-form-factor SAS bays using part numbers 496074-001 and 516914-B21. The cable is built for internal power routing in 1U and 2U rackmount chassis. System integrators replacing a failed backplane link will find the correct pinout and length.
The jump is worth it when the original cable is lost, crushed or shows intermittent drive detection on one or more bays. It is not for builders who need a different bay count, a different server generation or a non-SAS interface. No other connectivity or drive-type support is provided.

The adaptor replaces HP part numbers 496074-001 and 516914-B21 for the 8-bay SFF SAS cage in DL380 G7 and G6 servers.
Slide the adaptor into the cage backplane until the connector seats fully, then secure the single retention screw; the step often missed is tightening that screw before inserting drives.
