Connects a 2.5 inch SATA 7 + 15pin drive to USB 3.0 at up to 5.0 Gbps with UASP acceleration and intelligent sleep
This adapter connects a 2.5 inch SATA drive to a USB 3.0 host using a combined 7 + 15 pin connector. It targets users who need to access laptop drives or SSDs without opening a desktop case. The cable draws power from the USB port and requires no external supply. It suits technicians, upgraders and anyone moving data between systems.
The link runs at up to 5.0gbps theoretical throughput and falls back to USB 2.0 when plugged into an older port. UASP acceleration can add roughly 10 to 20 percent more speed with a SATA 3.0 SSD on Windows 8 or 10. Drives thicker than 9.5mm are not supported, so 12.5mm and 15mm models will not fit. The micro USB 3.0 input is the only host connection provided.
This cable removes the need for a 2.5 inch drive bay, a hot-swap cage or a separate docking station when you only need occasional access. The jump is worth it if you swap drives infrequently and want a compact, driver-free solution. It does not serve builders who need permanent internal mounting or users who require support for thicker 12.5mm and 15mm drives.

This cable uses a 7 + 15 pin SATA connector, matching standard 2.5 inch drives.
The theoretical rate is 5.0 Gbps over USB 3.0; real-world throughput depends on the drive and system, with UASP adding roughly 10 to 20 percent on supported SSDs.
The cable supports SATA 3.0 and is downward compatible with SATA 2.0, so the drive’s native SATA revision sets the practical ceiling.
