Ruth's sister USB 5 Axis CNC Breakout Board internal power cable

SKU CH-WZHS-PF5G3

Connects a USB 5-axis CNC breakout board to internal power for MACH3 drive board and stepper motor controller operation

  • USB connectivity simplifies CNC controller setup
  • Five-axis support enables complex machining operations
  • MACH3 compatibility works with established CNC software
  • Stepper motor driver control provides precise movement coordination

CNC breakout board with USB control

This USB 5-axis breakout board connects a PC running MACH3 to stepper motor drivers through a standard USB interface. It provides isolated signal routing for up to five axes, letting hobbyists and small-shop operators run a CNC mill, router or lathe from a modern computer without a legacy parallel port. The board acts as the motion-control interface between software and driver hardware.

Five-axis limit with single USB link

The adapter handles five axes simultaneously, which covers most 3-axis mills plus a rotary axis or dual-gantry setup. It does not support six or more axes, so machines needing additional spindles, tool changers or coordinated secondary tables will require a different motion controller. Bandwidth is limited to the USB 2.0 link, so extremely high pulse-rate applications may exceed reliable throughput.

Questions about this item

Will the USB interface on this breakout board work with the parallel-port CNC software I currently run on my older PC?

This board connects via USB and is designed for MACH3, so it replaces a parallel-port connection; your existing PC only needs a free USB port and MACH3 installed.

How can I confirm the board is communicating correctly with MACH3 after I wire the stepper drivers?

Open MACH3, enable the USB plugin, jog each axis and watch the DROs update — smooth movement and correct step counts show the board is working.
