Saf-T-Cart MDE-24 Cylinder Trolley

The Saf-T-Cart MDE-24 is a four-wheel vertical cylinder trolley built to hold up to 24 medical cylinders. It supports a maximum load of 2400 lb and accommodates tanks up to 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The frame measures 31 1/2 inches wide by 33 1/4 inches deep by 33 inches high. Two rigid and two swivel casters with brakes provide controlled mobility.

Facilities needing high-capacity vertical cylinder

This trolley suits hospitals, clinics and industrial sites that move multiple cylinders in a vertical orientation. The 24-cylinder capacity and 2400 lb rating handle heavy daily use. Buyers who need horizontal storage, smaller footprints or lower weight limits should look at alternative configurations.

24-cylinder capacity with 2400 lb load rating

The cart comfortably handles a full complement of 24 standard medical cylinders within the stated diameter limit. The 4-inch casters roll smoothly on level floors but may struggle on rough thresholds or soft surfaces. The 33-inch overall height fits through standard doorways but restricts overhead clearance in tight corridors.

Questions about this item

What cylinder diameter must I already have for the 24 vertical slots to accept them?

The cart holds tanks up to 4 1/2 in diameter, so your cylinders must be that size or smaller.

How will the 33 in overall height relate to shelving or door frames I keep in the shop?

At 33 in tall the unit fits under most standard counters and through typical interior openings.

How can I confirm the 2400 lb load rating is being met after I load the 24 cylinders?

Count the cylinders — 24 at the rated diameter — and verify the casters roll smoothly without bottoming out.
