Precision Extended Height Swivel Stool

This Safco 3406BL stool is built for elevated work surfaces such as drafting tables, standing desks or laboratory benches. The adjustable chrome-plated footring supports the legs and helps reduce pressure points during long sessions. A pneumatic one-touch lever sets the seat height while the backrest moves independently for height and depth. Five-star base with dual hooded casters provides stable mobility on hard floors or low-pile carpet.

Thermals noise and power draw

The stool has no motor, fan or power supply, so it produces no heat and no audible noise during use. No electricity is required, eliminating any power draw or cable management concerns. Adjustments are entirely mechanical, relying on a pneumatic cylinder and manual knobs that operate silently. The vinyl upholstery does not retain warmth, keeping the seating surface comfortable in temperature-controlled environments.

What this replaces and when the jump is worth it

It replaces fixed-height stools or standard office chairs that cannot reach drafting height or lack a supportive footring. The upgrade is worthwhile when tasks demand extended periods at raised surfaces and the user needs independent back-height and seat-depth tuning. Buyers who require a powered lift mechanism, integrated armrests or a mesh back for airflow will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How is the pneumatic seat height control operated, and what is the common mistake?

The one-touch pneumatic lever raises or lowers the seat; the common mistake is not lifting your weight off the seat while pulling the lever, which prevents smooth adjustment.

Which parts of this stool are most likely to need replacement after extended use?

The dual hooded casters on the five-star base and the pneumatic gas lift cylinder are the components that typically wear first with daily use.

What limit appears first when the stool is used continuously at drafting height?

The 25-inch base diameter sets the stability limit; at maximum seat height the centre of gravity rises, so the stool will feel less steady before any mechanical part fails.
