Open-top mobile file cart

The Safco 5373BL Scoot cart holds letter and legal hanging files in an open-top frame. Side pockets on each end keep active folders within reach. A lower shelf adds space for supplies or archive boxes. Four wheels let you roll the unit between workstations or meeting rooms.

Dimensions and mobility

The cart measures 28 inches wide by 14-3/4 inches deep by 26 inches high and weighs 35 lbs. The black frame with silver accents fits neutral office palettes. Casters swivel for tight turns in narrow aisles. No assembly tools are required beyond the included hardware.

Replaces stationary file cabinets

This unit suits teams that need files to move with projects instead of staying locked in a fixed cabinet. It is not for offices that require lockable drawers or fire-rated storage. The open design also means it cannot protect documents from dust or spills the way enclosed units do.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the casters to the 5373BL cart and what is the common mistake?

Insert each caster stem into the bottom shelf sockets and press firmly until it clicks; the step people miss is not pushing hard enough so the stem seats fully, leaving the cart wobbly.

What part of the 5373BL will need replacement after heavy daily rolling?

The four casters carry the 35 lb frame plus files; their wheels and swivel bearings wear first and are the only components designed to be swapped out.

At what load does the bottom shelf of the 5373BL start to bow during all-day use?

The 12 x 14 x 10 inch shelf handles typical hanging-file weight; sustained loads well above that — dense binders or equipment — cause visible deflection first.
