Emergency Exit Push Button

The Safety Technology International SS2409EX-EN is a latching exit push button designed for access control and emergency systems. It features a turn-to-reset mechanism housed in a painted polycarbonate enclosure with a blue finish and red actuator. The unit carries UL and cUL listings for code-compliant installations.

Electrical Ratings and Temperature Range

The switch contacts are rated at 10A for 125 or 250V AC and 6A at 30V DC with an SPDT relay output. It operates across a wide temperature span from -40 degrees to 250 degrees F. No keypad, cylinder or event audit trail functions are included.

SPDT Relay Output for Control Circuits

The single-pole double-throw relay output determines compatibility with the target control circuit. Buyers needing a different contact configuration or additional monitoring features should verify requirements before ordering.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the SS2409EX-EN push button and what wiring step is often missed?

Mount the polycarbonate housing using its 2 7/8 in depth and 3 1/4 in width; the step often missed is wiring both the normally open and normally closed contacts on the SPDT relay for the access-control circuit.

What part of the SS2409EX-EN will need replacement after repeated emergency activations?

The latching turn-to-reset mechanism and the SPDT relay contacts are the components that wear out after repeated use and will need replacement.

At what temperature does the SS2409EX-EN reach its operating limit first during sustained use?

The rated operating range stops at 250 degrees F, so that upper temperature limit is reached before the 10 A current rating becomes a constraint.
