Two white Cat 6 patch cables, each one foot long, rated for 550 MHz and gigabit speeds up to 1000 Mbps
This pack supplies two white Category 6 patch cables, each one foot long and rated to 550 MHz. They are built to the TIA/EIA 568B.2 standard with 24 AWG unshielded twisted pairs and a PVC jacket. The cables support 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps Ethernet connections.
The one-foot length works well for connecting a switch to a patch panel inside a cabinet or for linking a laptop to a dock on the same surface. Installers who need runs across rooms, between floors or through walls should choose longer cables instead.
The 550 MHz bandwidth meets the enhanced Cat 6 specification and carries Gigabit traffic over the full one-foot distance. It does not meet the higher frequency requirements of Cat 6A or later categories.

Your router or switch must provide a Gigabit Ethernet port rated for 1000 Mbps; the cables support 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps operation.
Yes, the cables are backward compatible and will negotiate 100 Mbps on a Fast Ethernet port while keeping the same 24 AWG UTP construction.
Check the port LEDs on your switch or router — a solid or blinking amber/green Gigabit indicator shows a 1000 Mbps link; the OS network status will also report 1 Gbps.
