Two-cable pack for Gigabit runs

This pack supplies two green Cat 6 patch cables, each 7 feet long, built to the TIA/EIA 568B.2 wiring standard. Unshielded twisted-pair construction with a PVC jacket keeps the cables flexible for desktop or wall-plate connections. The 24 AWG, four-pair conductors support 10/100/1000 Mbps links in home and small-office networks. Rated to 550 MHz, they provide headroom above the basic Cat 6 specification.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive copper cables generate no heat, emit no noise and draw no power of their own. Signal integrity depends on the connected equipment and the quality of the termination at each end. Normal operation adds no thermal load to a rack or cabinet and requires no external power supply.

Upgrade from Cat 5e or damaged leads

Replacing older Cat 5e or faulty patch cords with these Cat 6 cables restores full Gigabit throughput where cabling was the bottleneck. The jump is worth it when link negotiation falls back to 100 Mbps or when intermittent errors appear on longer runs. Existing Cat 6 installations in good condition will see no practical difference.
