SAMSUNG 990 EVO Plus 1TB internal SSD

SKU CH-E0SZ-JV8Q3

1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 and 5.0 x2 M.2 2280 drive reaching 7,250 MB/s read with nickel-coated controller for 73% better efficiency

  • Sequential read speeds up to 7,250 MB/s for rapid large-file transfers
  • Sequential write speeds up to 6,300 MB/s accelerated by Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0
  • Nickel-coated controller improves power efficiency by 73 % reducing heat and battery drain
  • Compatible with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 for flexible platform support
  • Magician Software keeps firmware current for sustained performance

PCIe 4.0 x4 and 5.0 x2 interface

This internal SSD connects through an M.2 2280 slot using PCIe 4.0 x4 or PCIe 5.0 x2 signalling. The dual-mode link lets the drive run at full bandwidth on current platforms and on newer chipsets that expose a 5.0 x2 endpoint.

Suits builders who want up to 7,250 MB/s

The 990 EVO Plus targets users moving large project files, game libraries or datasets where sequential throughput matters. Buyers who need sustained write performance beyond the TurboWrite window or who require enterprise-grade endurance should look at a different class of drive.

Nickel-coated controller improves efficiency by 73 %

The manufacturer states the nickel-coated controller raises MB/s per watt by 73 %, delivering similar throughput with lower power draw and better thermal behaviour. This single figure decides whether the drive fits a thin-and-light laptop or a compact desktop where cooling headroom is tight.

Questions about this item

Will the M.2 2280 form factor fit my laptop slot?

The drive uses the M.2 2280 form factor, so it fits any standard M.2 2280 slot in a PC or laptop.

Which PCIe mode do I select in BIOS for the 990 EVO Plus?

The SSD supports PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2; enable the highest mode your motherboard chipset allows for full 7,250 MB/s reads.

How do I keep the nickel-coated controller running efficiently over time?

Run Samsung Magician software to apply firmware updates and monitor drive health; the nickel-coated controller already improves MB/s per Watt by 73%.
