2.5-inch SATA enterprise SSD with 1.92 TB capacity, 550 MB/s sequential read, 520 MB/s write, 98,000 random read IOPS and 1 DWPD endurance
Capacity 1.92TB
The Samsung PM893 is a 2.5-inch enterprise solid-state drive with 1.92TB of V-NAND TLC storage. It connects through a SATA III interface and uses the Samsung Metis Controller with low-power SDRAM cache. The drive delivers up to 550 MBps sequential read and 520 MBps sequential write speeds. It is rated for 1 DWPD endurance and 3,504 TBW total bytes written.
This SSD fits read-heavy applications such as web serving, content delivery and logging where 1 DWPD endurance matches the duty cycle. The 98,000 IOPS random read performance supports high queue-depth access patterns. It is not for write-intensive databases or caching tiers that exceed the 30,000 IOPS random write limit or the 1 DWPD endurance budget.
The SATA III 6 Gb/s interface determines host compatibility and caps throughput at the rated 550 MBps read and 520 MBps write. The 1 DWPD endurance rating defines the total write capacity of 3,504 TBW over the warranty period. Verify that the target system provides a 2.5-inch SATA bay and that the workload stays within the 1 DWPD write budget.

Other versions of this model
The drive connects through a standard SATA III (6 Gb/s) port or backplane; any controller that supports SATA III will recognise the PM893 and deliver its 550 MBps read and 520 MBps write speeds.
Yes, each drive negotiates its own link speed; the PM893 runs at SATA III while legacy SATA II or I drives remain at their native rates, so mixed workloads do not force the bus to a single lower speed.
Monitor the SMART "Total LBAs Read" and "Total LBAs Written" counters alongside a 4 KB random-read benchmark; sustained throughput near 98,000 IOPS with low latency indicates the Metis controller and V-NAND TLC are operating within spec.
