SAMSUNG Refurbished
Refurbished 2.5" SATA internal SSD with 256GB MLC storage for consumer systems
This refurbished 2.5-inch internal drive delivers 256GB of MLC flash storage over a SATA III link. It is built for consumer desktops and laptops that accept a 7.00mm SATA device. The 840 Pro series targets everyday computing workloads.
Buyers with motherboards that provide only SATA ports will find this drive a direct fit. Systems that require a PCIe or M.2 keyed interface cannot use this 2.5-inch form factor. Shoppers needing more than 256GB of capacity should consider larger drives.
The 256GB MLC capacity determines whether the drive holds the intended operating system, applications and data set. Users with larger media libraries or multiple virtual machines will need a higher-capacity model. The SATA III interface and 7.00mm height are fixed by the design.

Connect the 7.00mm high drive to a SATA III port using a standard data cable and power connector, then secure it with the four mounting screws; the step often missed is forgetting to enable AHCI mode in the BIOS before cloning the OS.
The MLC memory cells have a finite write endurance; once the reserved spare blocks are exhausted the drive will switch to read-only mode, so plan to replace the 256GB unit when SMART attributes report critical wear.
The SATA III interface caps sequential throughput at roughly 6 Gbit/s, so the controller hits that bus ceiling before the MLC flash reaches its own speed ceiling during long transfers.
