Product Identity

The Samsung XNP-6040HW is a 2-megapixel PTZ network camera built for outdoor surveillance. It captures 1920 x 1080 video at 60 fps through a 2.80-12 mm varifocal lens with 4.3x optical zoom and 32x digital zoom. The white housing carries IK10 and IP66 ratings for impact and weather protection. Installers connect it via a single RJ45 Fast Ethernet port.

Thermals Noise Power

The camera operates on Power over Ethernet through the RJ45 connection, drawing power from the network infrastructure without a separate supply. No moving cooling fans are present, so the unit runs silently in normal use. The sealed IP66 enclosure manages heat passively across its operating temperature range. Pan, tilt and zoom motors activate only on command, keeping idle consumption low.

Bundled Extras Impact

The feature set includes Wide Dynamic Range, Back Light Compensation, Highlight Compensation and Defog to maintain image clarity in difficult lighting. Digital Image Stabilization and Digital Noise Reduction clean up footage from vibration or low light. Analytics such as Vehicle Detection, Human Detection and Motion Detection trigger alerts without external software. Privacy Masking blocks sensitive zones directly in the camera.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Samsung XNP-6040HW and which step is often missed?

Mount the camera on a solid surface, run a single Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port for both power and data, then use the web interface to set the 2.80–12 mm varifocal lens focus after aiming.

What maintenance or replacement will the Samsung XNP-6040HW need over time?

Clean the dome regularly to keep the 4.3x optical zoom clear; the IK10-rated housing and IP66 seals are built to last, but the internal IR LEDs and CMOS sensor may need service after years of 60 fps operation.

What limit appears first when the Samsung XNP-6040HW runs continuously at 60 fps?

The RJ45 Fast Ethernet connection caps total throughput, so sustained 1920x1080 60 fps streams with H.265 compression will hit the network ceiling before the sensor or processor does.
