Pocket AM/FM Radio with 15 Presets

The Sangean DT-120 is a compact PLL-synthesised digital tuner covering FM 87.5-108 and AM 520-1710. It stores 15 stations across 10 FM and 5 AM presets for quick recall. An auto-search function scans and locks onto clear signals automatically. The stereo/mono switch lets you reduce noise on weak FM stations.

Included Earbuds and Battery Features

Supplied earbuds plug into the 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack for private listening. A battery life indicator warns when the single 1.5 V UM-4 cell needs replacing. The 90 minute auto shutoff preserves power if you forget to turn the unit off. A button lock switch prevents accidental changes while the radio is in a pocket or bag.

Deep Bass Boost and Size Constraints

The Deep Bass Boost circuit adds low-end weight to speech and music through the earbuds. The 2 x 3.71 x 0.71 inch chassis fits easily in a shirt pocket for portable use. Buyers who want rechargeable power or Bluetooth streaming will need a different device. The single AA cell limits playtime compared to larger multi-battery portables.

Questions about this item

How often will the AAA batteries need replacing with daily listening?

The radio runs on two AAA cells; battery life depends on volume and headphone use, and the LCD shows a low-battery indicator when replacement is needed.

What limits reception when the radio is used continuously indoors?

The PLL-synthesized tuner covers FM 87.5-108 and AM 520-1710 kHz; indoor signal strength and antenna positioning are the practical limits on sustained reception.

Does the unit get warm or make noise during all-day operation?

The solid-state design has no moving parts and draws minimal current from the AAA supply, so it stays cool and silent even with the 90-minute auto-shutoff disabled.
