Compact Weather Radio

The Sangean DT-400W is a pocket-sized digital AM/FM radio with built-in NOAA weather alert capability. A large LCD display shows frequency and clock information. The PLL synthesized tuner stores 19 preset stations across AM and FM bands. Two AA batteries power the unit for portable use.

Outdoor Listeners and Emergency Prep

Hikers, campers and anyone wanting a compact emergency radio will appreciate the belt clip and weather alert function. The simple controls suit quick tuning. Buyers needing Bluetooth streaming, single-sideband reception or a larger speaker for room-filling sound should consider other devices.

NOAA Weather Alert Decides Fit

The seven-channel NOAA weather receiver with automatic alert tone is the feature that determines whether this radio matches the buyer's needs. If emergency weather warnings are not required, a simpler AM/FM pocket radio may suffice.
