Connect 4-pin devices to 6-pin ports
This SANOXY cable links a 4-pin IEEE 1394a device to a 6-pin IEEE 1394a port on a computer. It supports data transfer rates up to 400 Mbps. The connection is hot pluggable so the cable can be attached or removed without restarting the system.
Triple shielding cuts interference
Premium triple shielding reduces EMI and RFI interference during data transfers. The cable is designed for use from a 1394 host to a self-powered peripheral. Because the device supplies its own power, the two power conductors in the 6-pin connector are not used.
Simple plug-in with no drivers
Installation requires only plugging the 4-pin end into the device and the 6-pin end into the computer port. No driver installation or configuration is needed for the cable itself. Buyers who need to connect two 6-pin ports or two 4-pin ports cannot use this cable.

Questions about this item
Does the 6-pin end supply power to the 4-pin device, or will the peripheral need its own adapter?
The 4-pin connector does not carry power, so the peripheral must be self-powered; the cable's two power conductors are unused.
At 400 Mbps over 10 ft, will sustained transfers hit a bandwidth ceiling?
The IEEE 1394a link is rated for 400 Mbps, and the 10 ft length stays within spec, so the interface itself is the limiting factor.
Will the triple-shielded jacket run warm or add noticeable heat inside a closed rack?
The cable is passive with no active electronics, so it generates no measurable heat during all-day operation.
