Compact 3-inch bookshelf speakers

The Sanyun SW-208 is a pair of active bookshelf speakers designed for desktop or shelf placement. Each unit uses a 3-inch carbon fibre driver powered by 60 watts total output. Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB connection with a built-in 24-bit DAC provide wired and wireless sources. The cabinets combine wood with carbon fibre finish in white.

24-bit DAC via USB

A 24-bit digital-to-analogue converter is integrated and accessed through the USB input. This path takes a digital signal straight from a computer or phone, bypassing the source device’s analogue stage. The result is lower conversion loss compared with a 3.5 mm analogue connection. Bluetooth 5.0 remains available for cable-free streaming.

Desktop listeners wanting tone controls

Side-mounted knobs adjust volume, treble and bass so the user can shape the sound without software. The frequency range spans 27 Hz to 120 kHz, covering deep lows and extended highs. Buyers who need a subwoofer output, optical input or wireless multi-room grouping should look at other models.

Questions about this item

How loud and clean will 60 watts sound on a desktop?

The 60 W rating is continuous undistorted power, so the speakers can drive a near-field setup to high volume without audible distortion.

What does the built-in 24-bit DAC do when I connect by USB?

It receives the digital audio stream directly from the computer, performs the digital-to-analogue conversion inside the speaker, and avoids the extra conversion step that a 3.5 mm cable would add.

How much shelf depth do the cabinets need?

Each cabinet measures 25 inches deep, so the shelf must provide at least that much front-to-back clearance.
