6 ft Toslink cable for SPDIF audio

This six-foot Toslink cable carries a digital optical signal between two SPDIF ports. Male connectors at both ends plug into soundbars, AV receivers, consoles, TVs or Blu-ray players. The optical fiber conductor supports Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround formats. A flexible PVC jacket protects the fiber during routing.

Sustained signal integrity over distance

Multi-layer shielding and gold-plated connectors maintain a clean 125 Mbps stream without the drop-outs that can appear on longer unshielded runs. The optical path is immune to electromagnetic interference from power cables or Wi-Fi routers. Removing the plastic pin protectors before insertion ensures full core alignment for consistent throughput.

PVC jacket and gold connectors for daily handling

The round black PVC sheath resists kinking when the cable is tucked behind furniture or run along baseboards. Gold plating on the Toslink tips resists corrosion from repeated mating cycles. At six feet the length suits typical living-room layouts while leaving slack for equipment movement. ROHS compliant materials meet restricted-substance standards.

Questions about this item

Does the cable generate any heat or electrical noise when used continuously for long sessions?

The optical fiber construction carries light instead of electricity, so the cable produces no heat and is immune to electromagnetic interference during all-day use.

What devices must I already have with Toslink ports for this 6 ft cable to work?

You need a source and a destination that each provide a Toslink (SPDIF) optical port — for example a TV, soundbar, game console, Blu-ray player or AV receiver with a square optical jack.

Will this 125 Mbps optical cable work reliably with older Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 gear I still own?

Yes, the cable supports Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 bitstreams, so it passes the audio formats used by legacy home-theatre equipment without conversion.
