15 ft Toslink cable for SPDIF audio

This 15 ft Toslink cable carries a digital optical signal between SPDIF-equipped devices. It fits home-theatre systems, soundbars, TVs, consoles, Blu-ray players and AV receivers. Gold-plated male connectors mate securely with standard square optical ports. The PVC jacket protects the fibre core during everyday routing.

Bandwidth limit at 125 Mbps

The link runs at 125 Mbps, which supports Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround formats. It does not carry uncompressed multichannel PCM beyond stereo or newer object-based codecs. Runs longer than 15 ft may increase jitter, so the practical ceiling for this length is the stated rate. Buyers who need higher bit-rate audio should verify their source and sink capabilities.

PVC jacket and gold connectors

A flexible PVC sheath resists kinks when the cable bends behind equipment racks. Multi-layer shielding blocks electrical noise that can corrupt the light signal. Gold plating on the Toslink tips reduces oxidation for long-term contact reliability. Remember to remove the plastic pin protectors before the first insertion. The round profile eases cable management in tight spaces.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.5 ft, 15 ft or 100 ft version for my setup?

Measure the distance between your devices and choose the shortest length that reaches comfortably; the 15 ft cable suits typical living-room runs while 1.5 ft fits stacked gear and 100 ft covers whole-house installs.

What does the 125 Mbps rating mean when I hook this cable to my soundbar?

That bandwidth carries Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 bitstreams without compression, so your soundbar receives the full surround mix exactly as the source outputs it.

Is this a standard S/PDIF Toslink cable and will it fit every optical port?

Yes, it uses the universal square Toslink connector on both ends and complies with the S/PDIF optical specification, so it mates securely with any TV, receiver, console or Blu-ray player that has a Toslink port.
