Self-fusing EPR splicing tape rated for 194 °F continuous and 266 °F overload with 250 lb/in tensile strength
Scotch 130C is a linerless ethylene propylene rubber tape designed for splicing and terminating wires and cables. It self-fuses without adhesive residue and provides a moisture seal that remains effective regardless of stretch level. The tape meets RoHS compliance and suits electrical professionals handling high-voltage insulation tasks.
Traditional adhesive tapes can leave sticky residue and may not maintain insulation properties when stretched. This self-fusing rubber tape eliminates residue, retains electrical performance under elongation, and handles continuous temperatures up to 194F with short-term overloads to 266F. The jump is worth it when splices demand void-free buildup and reliable thermal dissipation.
The roll delivers tensile strength of 250 pounds per inch for durable splices on cables up to high-voltage ratings. It comfortably handles continuous operating heat and provides immediate sealing on irregular shapes. Headroom decreases when mechanical protection against abrasion or puncture is the primary requirement, as the rubber carrier is optimised for electrical insulation rather than physical armour.

The 3/4 in width suits typical splice diameters; stretch and half-lap each layer until the desired build-up is reached.
Apply the side that was inside the roll (tacky side up) so the tape fuses to itself without sticky residue.
Replace if the tape no longer self-fuses, shows cracks, or the splice exceeds the 194 °F continuous or 266 °F short-term temperature ratings.
