Disposable shop towels for automotive work

These blue shop towels come on a continuous roll with 55 perforated sheets measuring 10.4 by 11 inches. The 1-ply DRC paper is non-toxic and unscented. They are built for wiping grease, oil and liquids during vehicle repairs and general garage maintenance.

Who should use them and who should not

Mechanics, DIYers and garage owners needing a disposable alternative to laundered cloths will find these suitable. Buyers who want a reusable fabric towel or a product certified for food-contact surfaces should look elsewhere.

Lead-exposure data from a 2013 study

The supplier cites a 2013 study showing 100 percent of freshly laundered shop towels tested contained lead, and that using just three per day can expose workers to heavy metals. OSHA warns lead may accumulate in the body over time. Switching to these disposable towels removes that laundering-related exposure route.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Scott 75130 roll on a standard shop towel holder?

The roll is a continuous perforated design measuring 10.4 x 11 inches per sheet. Mount the roll on a compatible holder spindle and pull the towel down to tear at the perforation.

What maintenance or replacement will these shop towels need during use?

Each roll contains 55 single-use towels. Replace the roll when empty; a bulk case holds 30 rolls for restocking. No cleaning or laundering is required.

What limit appears first when using these towels continuously for heavy grease and oil?

The 1-ply DRC paper construction absorbs fluids until saturated. Once soaked, the towel loses strength and must be discarded for a fresh sheet.
