Questions about this item

Will the SAS 6Gb/s interface or the 15000RPM spindle need service first?

The 15000RPM spindle bearings and motor are the mechanical parts that wear over time; the SAS 6Gb/s interface is solid-state and does not degrade.

Does the 16MB cache or the 6Gb/s SAS link saturate first during sustained writes?

The 16MB cache fills quickly under heavy sustained writes, making the 6Gb/s SAS link the next bottleneck for throughput.
