Built for Daily Business Use

The Sharp EL-1801V is a 12-digit printing calculator designed for office and business environments where printed records are required. It operates on AC power and produces a two-colour printout that shows positive figures in black and negative figures in red. The off-white casing fits standard desk setups.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The unit runs from a mains connection so there is no battery to charge or replace during the working day. Its fluorescent display and printing mechanism operate without audible fan noise. Power consumption is limited to the AC adapter supplied with the calculator.

Accessories That Support Operation

Standard ink ribbons and paper rolls are used, making replenishment straightforward when supplies run low. The colour-coded keyboard groups functions by colour to reduce entry errors during rapid data input. A one-year parts and labour coverage period is included by the manufacturer.

Questions about this item

How is the EL-1801V installed and what step is commonly missed?

Connect the calculator to an AC outlet using the built-in power cord and load a standard paper roll so it feeds from the bottom; the step often missed is setting the print-density lever for the ribbon before the first printout.

What maintenance or replacement will the EL-1801V need later?

The ink ribbon and paper roll are the only consumables; both are standard office-supply items that snap in without tools when print fades or paper runs out.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the EL-1801V?

The 2.5-lines-per-second print speed is the throughput ceiling; during long columns of figures the mechanism cannot print faster, so the operator must pause for the paper to catch up.
