Flush fit on supported models

On the listed 13, 15 and 17 inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models from 2009 to 2014 the adaptor sits nearly flush, allowing the card to remain inserted during transport. On Retina 15 inch models from 2013 onward and Retina 13 inch models from 2012 onward the adaptor protrudes by several millimetres, so it cannot stay in place when the laptop is moved.

Passive design with no extra power

The adaptor contains no active electronics, draws no power and adds no audible noise to the system. Thermals are unaffected because the device simply routes the card contacts to the slot. The memory card itself is not included and must be purchased separately.
