What this adapter does

HDMI and data limits

The HDMI port delivers up to 3840x2160 resolution at 30Hz, so higher refresh rates are not available. The USB 3.0 port runs at 5Gbps, which is 10x faster than USB 2.0 at 480Mbps, while the USB-C port accepts up to 3A for charging the host device.

Check your host port

Your computer must provide a USB-C 3.1 port that supports video alt-mode; a data-only Type-C socket will not drive the HDMI output. The hub is Thunderbolt 3 compatible, but it does not add Thunderbolt functionality to a non-Thunderbolt port.
