USB 5.1 Channel Optical Sound Card

The Shenzhen Powermaz E0041 is a USB audio controller that adds 5.1 channel optical S/PDIF input and output to a computer. It handles digital playback and recording at 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz sampling rates. The device also provides six-channel analogue playback and fixed 48 kHz analogue recording. A driver CD and USB cable are included in the package.

For stereo-upgrade seekers.

This adapter suits laptop or desktop users who need an external optical connection for surround sound decoding or digital recording. It is not for buyers who require more than two channels of PCM over the optical link, nor for installations needing hardware mixing, ASIO drivers or rack-mount form factors.

Optical stereo pass-through

In digital mode the optical output conveys only the front left and right PCM channels, limiting surround encoding to external processors. Analogue mode unlocks all six channels for direct speaker connection. Recording locks to 48 kHz in analogue and follows the incoming stream at 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz in digital. The unit measures 8.7 by 6 by 2 cm and weighs 122 g.
