Front-panel USB hub for 3.5-inch bay
This hub converts a motherboard USB 3.1 or USB 3.0 header into four front-facing ports. Two USB-C and two USB-A sockets are provided in a single 3.5-inch drive-bay bracket. It targets builders who want modern device connections at the front of a desktop case without using rear I/O. The GL3520 controller manages the port split from a single internal header.
Sustained transfer rates across four ports
Each port can deliver up to 900 mA of current for connected devices. The hub negotiates SuperSpeed at 5 Gbps, Hi-Speed at 480 Mbps, or Low-Speed at 1.5 Mbps depending on the attached peripheral. Under continuous multi-port load the shared upstream link divides bandwidth among active ports, so aggregate throughput will be lower than the single-port maximum.
Replaces a single front-panel header cable
It upgrades a case that only offers a legacy front-panel header or no front USB-C ports. The jump is worth it when you regularly attach USB-C drives, phones or accessories and want them accessible at the front. Builders who need more than four simultaneous high-bandwidth devices or who lack a spare 3.5-inch bay should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item
Does the GL3520 chipset make the hub run hot or draw extra power when all four ports are used continuously?
The hub is powered from the motherboard's USB 3.1 or USB 3.0 20-pin header and each port supplies up to 900 mA, so total draw stays within the header's rated capacity without active cooling.
What motherboard header must I already have free to connect this front-panel hub?
You need an available USB 3.1 front-panel header or a USB 3.0 20-pin header on the motherboard to plug in the supplied cable.
Will USB 1.1 devices like an old keyboard still work through the Type-A ports on this hub?
Yes, the GL3520 chipset supports USB 1.1 low-speed at 1.5 Mbps, so legacy peripherals function normally alongside USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices.
