Packing Paper for Moving and Storage

This Shinok packing paper ships as 100 sheets measuring 12 by 24 inches. The unprinted, acid-free newsprint weighs 45 gsm and is suited for wrapping dishes, glassware and other fragile items during a move or shipment.

Limits of Newsprint as a Protective Material

At 45 gsm the paper is lightweight and tears easily under heavy loads or sharp edges. It provides cushioning but no moisture barrier, so wet conditions will compromise the wrap. The 12 by 24 inch sheet may not fully cover oversized platters or large framed artwork without overlapping multiple sheets.

Upgrade from Newspaper and Tissue Paper

This pack replaces loose newspaper sheets that transfer ink onto belongings and flimsy tissue paper that offers little void fill. The clean, unbleached surface eliminates print smudges on dishes and the 100-count bundle supplies enough material for a typical household move. Buyers who need water-resistant wrap or heavy-duty cushioning for industrial loads will find this paper insufficient.

Questions about this item

Should I get the 100-sheet pack or the 50-sheet option?

The 100-sheet pack gives you double the sheets for wrapping dishes, glassware and filling box voids, so you cover a full move in one purchase.

What does the 45 gsm weight mean when I wrap a plate?

At 45 gsm the paper is light enough to fold tightly around curves yet thick enough to cushion impacts without tearing.

How does the 12 x 24 in sheet size work with standard moving boxes?

Each 12 x 24 in sheet folds neatly around most plates and glasses and layers efficiently inside common box dimensions.
