Utility Grade Masking Tape CP-83

Shurtape CP-83 is an economical crepe paper masking tape with a synthetic rubber-based adhesive for general purpose packaging, bundling, holding, splicing, tabbing and banding tasks. It offers high adhesion and excellent quick stick on a variety of surfaces. The tape tears cleanly by hand and conforms to curves and edges. It is manufactured in the USA.

Thermals, noise and power draw

As a passive adhesive tape, CP-83 produces no noise and draws no power during use. Its service temperature range spans 50°F to 150°F, and the crepe paper backing provides oil and water resistance to help the tape stay put in shop and warehouse environments. The 5 mil total thickness remains stable across this range.

Build fit and constraints

The roll measures 96 mm wide by 60 yards long on a 3-inch core, fitting standard dispensers. It meets ASTM D 6123/D 6123M-97 (2012) Type I. Not intended for exacting industrial masking, spray painting or oven baking applications. Buyers who need higher temperature resistance or clean removal after baking should select a different grade.
